A Decade and Counting...

I know this post is coming really late but I wasn’t sure what I was going to say. In fact, I still don’t know what I’m going to say.

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It feels like the events happened just yesterday but equally feel like recovery has been going on for 150 years. Our scars aren’t completely heeled and some perhaps will never be.

Sometimes I feel the media forgets about the attack at the Pentagon and those brave souls who took United 93 down before it got to it’s intended target. Yes, I know the recovery is still active at Ground Zero and the pentagon is fixed but I know that they all live equally in our hearts.

For the next 10 years+ let’s still keep everyone of these people who were just living there life like everyday in the back of our minds.

If I could I would everyone of them a big hug!

I’m not sure if that’s what I really wanted to say or if I got everything out there but let’s never forget 9/11/01!

XOXOXO, - J

We will let you know if anything changes.

All Things Bright and Beautiful Tour - It's A Wrap

We got back home early this morning from Minnesota where we were partying with Adam (from Owl City), Mat Kearney, and a few members from Unwed Sailor (who opened up a few shows), & a bunch of the bands members and crew. It was really amazing (and the food was great!).

We played the last show of this particularly long (1 1/3 months) tour. It was the longest tour of this bands existence. Owl City is continuing this tour in a few other countries and Mat Kearney will be heading back out to do a headlining tour at a few places around the U.S. (dates for that on matkearney.com) and we will be heading to the United Kingdom (are first time in that area) opening up the Taking Back Sunday UK tour for about a week and while we’re there playing a couple big festivals in that country (Reading Fest & Leeds Fest).

The tour we just rapped up was absolutely amazing! We are constantly playing shows around the U.S. (& Canada) but it still always makes us proud to be able to bring our creation into your city. This tour took a lot of planning. We were actually approached to be on this tour (usually we approach them) and it kind us took us by surprise. Apparently, Adam had been to one of our shows when we were in Minnesota and enjoyed it. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen us live (or heard any of our really crappy recordings) but we’re very similar to Owl City in a way. Anyway, When we were approached the album that he was promoting hadn’t even been recorded yet. In fact, some of the songs hadn’t even been written yet. So the tour was a mere thought in the back of the band’s management and publishing company. So it allowed us to give some input which was awesome.

Anyway, All of the shows were an absolute blast! Apparently, We rocked it harder than we usually do. We were looking at our merch sales and we sold about 30% more items that usual. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but our management company had to overnight us about 400 additional T-Shirts and we sold them all during a matter of just 2 shows and it ended up with us actually not being able to sell merch for the last 6 shows due to stock. Which is great because we were able to get home!

This tour started on the 13th of June but due to some scheduling conflicts (which I couldn’t shy away from) we had to enter the tour about a week late. Some of you told us that you were mad that we weren’t at the shows we were supposed to play (especially Nashville) and it was a bummer that we couldn’t. So, We are already working on booking some makeup dates for those shows & we should have everything worked out in the next few months.

Here are some photos from the AMAZING shows & towns (in no particular order): Taken In: St. Petersburg, FL

Taken In: Chicago, IL

Taken In: New York, NY

Mat’s bus broke down about 3 minutes from the Venue. But NOTHING stops his awesome crew! So, With a little help from our Sprinter Van & Trailer HE MADE IT!Taken In: Portland, OR

Taken In: Denver, CO

Thank You SOOOOOOOOO much for one of the best times in our lives! We owe you for everything. :)

XOXO.

All Things Bright & Beautiful Tour - Update One

Sorry it’s taken so long to get this blog online we’ve been in Canada with very little internet access for the past few days and before that we were settling back into the road life after being at home for about a month! Anyway, Sorry for the long explanation.

We started our leg of this tour a little later than the original start of this tour due to an unexpected calendar overlap.

(If you were planning to come to see us at any of the dates we had to cancel don’t worry we’re already getting some makeup shows planned!)

It’s been really nice to get back out and see everyone once again! We’ve missed you guys greatly.

We started this tour in Baltimore, MD at Pier Six which was great because we didn’t have to travel far to get to the venue and we could see a bunch of personal friends while we were there! Then, We made the long (but exciting) trek to Canada where we played three shows (one in Montreal and two in Toronto (one at a venue and another acoustic one at a local music shop) which was GREAT! It’s always nice to be in Canada.

Tonight we’re in NYC which is a little overwhelming but always fun. Sometimes you can forget your actually still in the United States when your exploring (especially in places like ChinaTown) but is very fascinating! I feel like I dropped the ball with the hole blogging promise but trust me I WILL become better at this!

Thanks for reading and you continued support!

It's been a while...

Hi Everybody!

I’d like to start off by apologizing for not posting on here in while. I’ve been slammed and meaning to get one of these done but I just never had enough time!

Here’s what’s been going down…

We finished up the Newsboys tour (which was a total blast) at the end of last month and once we got home there where a few things we had pushed aside while prepping for this (very long/longer than expected) tour. When we finally got back to our pads everything started happening at once (which happens to us all of the time but was really intense this time around). We also ran into a few scheduling conflicts with the upcoming “All Things Bright & Beautiful” tour w/ Owl City so we ended up having to back out of the first week of tour and enter on the 18th (of June) instead of the previously planned 13th.

We also launched our new website a few weeks ago. Yes, I know! We change it all of the time but this one should be here to stay (at least for the rest of the year). The past sites we’ve had where great but we where having issues with them (such as sites creating server problems, and content management issues (just to name a few)). We are still putting some final coats of paint on it and it should be 100% in a few days currently I’d call it 95-97%.

We’re also working on getting an online store setup! Currently, You can only get merchandise at shows. But, We’ve been getting a lot of requests for an online store for a few months now and we think it’s a good time to get it started!

I think that’s about it. If I skipped over anything I’ll cover it on the next entry. I’m going to start writing these a lot more! I’ve also thought about doing some sort of audio podcast. Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks for listening to be babble uncontrollably!

You guys rock - XOXO, -Joel
